The Imagination, Computation, and Expression (ICE) Lab builds computational systems for expressing imaginative stories and concepts, phantasmal media, enabling new forms of human creative culture while empowering users. Imagination computing systems use artificial intelligence/cognitive science-based techniques as expressive resources for new forms of interactive narrative, identity, software art, and related forms of digital cultural production. Synthesizing cognitive science, digital media arts, and computing, our work introduces a new paradigm called imagination computing. Imagination computing integrates three novel approaches to understanding and developing technology: subjective, cultural, and critical computing.
